Tine & Tim finally arrive at Earls Court Station with their enormous bags and excess baggage. Jr & I were up early getting a call from Tim at a Heathrow Airport payphone. They arrived around 7am and took them to the studio to meet up with Rod & Denise back in the studio. We were all finally in London together. We had filled Tine & Tim about the low-down on the dramas of finding accommodation for 6 months! Say goodbye to the original plan (poor Rod, had to deal with the ear bashing he got) and "Herowww" to a new pad in Angel.
We all tubed it to Tuffnel Park, the head office of the Agent, Louise we were dealing with. So we arrived at the office in 'ghetto-town' to ask all the necessary questions & sign the contract. It was a headache as the agents here in London like ball-breaking people especially foreigners! We took a lunch break before we did sign anything & made any deposits. We ate at a Chicken/Burger joint, but ate at the wronf time as it was lunch time for the students at the nearby school. OMG!!! Dizzie-Rascal & Co!!!... "Ay Boss-Man" was the tagline for the day. It was ghetto-ville once you heard the teenagers accents and rude behaivour! All 6 of us exchanged glances and kept an eye on each other and our belongings!...
Once the contract was signed we all were pretty gee-ed up!!! All there was to it now was fighting over the rooms! Room 1, the biggest room with on-suite & large wardrobe space; Room 2, the second largest room..average and Room 3, the smallest room with another seat of stairs to walk up (loft-style) but the smallest room.
Celebratory drinks were required at our locaal Irish Pub, O'NEILS. Rod had sorted the admin and breakdown of costs, while Denise & I fought over the rooms with a 'draw-out-of-a-hat' game.
Denise won the Master-bedroom. All good as it worked out well with Jr & I paying the average rate room.
After our celebration, we retreated back to the room for a cheap dinner. Later Rob (Nino's best mate) came to chill with us and entertain us with his random stories. We all then headed out to meet up with Rod's mate Alex and his girlfriend. The night was freezing and a taste of the actual coldness we'll need to endure. Boo! Rain and ice-cold air. LOL.
We chilled at another pub for beer & more talk and more of Rob's stories...LOL.
Walking in the night drizzle to Piccadilly Square, seeing the lights from the TDK illuminated billboard, London's public transport and other touros was awesome. We are all actually here in London!!!
The night ended soon as the new comers were exhausted.
