SCOTLAND: DAY 5 William Wallace & Stirling Castle

Another long drive to Stirling this time to visit The Sir William Wallace Monument. A day with sun and a heap of wind!!

There was a 'solider' onsite sighting/quoting details of history to the crowd that had gathered around him. Well done to the Scottish actor...

More workouts!... Climbing 250+ steps that spiraled up the Monument that exhibited The Life of William Wallace, Scotland's Heros, Info on building the Monument & the Views of Stirling from the very top of the tower.

It was such a windy day! From the top of the Monument especially... I thought I was going to get blown away!! The height & wind made me lower myself down to the ground - I pretty much had to crawl on the floor!!!... Funny thing was there were other foreigners that were there and just strolled on in on the top with ease!! (Mara you pounce!!!)

The ride down the mountain in a mini-van... yay! The ease of it all! LOL. The Scottish fella that drove the van was saying how 'lazy' we were! Oh yes indeed! Funny guy!

Lunch was cheap - we found a bakery.. A Scottish Meat Pie & a Sausage Roll.... down that baby with Coke!!! Nice! Boy did we stand out in that town!! The only Orientals packed with their cameras ready round their necks!

Next stop - STIRLING CASTLE.... The first castle I've ever visited Overseas!!!...

A statue of King Robert The Bruce was clearly in view near the entrance of the castle... from the distance you could see The William Wallace Monument.

We had a tour-guide showing us around informing the group of the Castle's history.... Below, the Great Hall's roof was made with a forest of trees only holding them together were just wooden pegs - no nails or bolts were used! Un-ber-reeb-ba-bral!!

We were so buggard from the day out - Denise made us dinner! Hamburgers, Mash Potatoes & Veggies!! Scrumptious!!
