30-08-09: THE NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL
Headed to Notting Hill by bus for the yearly Carnival to see the masses of people. It was mainly an African Food and Culture Festival, packed with food stalls, colourful clothing, loud thumping music and dancing! Amazing see the people getting into the vibe.
We were starving and tried out their 'Jerk Chicken', 'Goat Curry' and African 'Stuffed Pastries' ... I could of kept eating... We were just chilling on the grass till we decided to head towards the road to see the floats, music and loads of people were following and dancing crazy!
Man this chick in the tiny shorts knew how to shake her money makers!!!
The kids got dressed up too!!! Little cuties!!!
It was a short day and we headed back home... just in time for me to take my sister out to see a theatre....an early birthday gift... THE TRAIL OF MARIE ANTOINETTE at the Courtyard Theatre in Shoreditch.
A very intimate show and an excellent performance by the lead role....

26-08-09: SPAIN TRIP - BUNOL'S LA TOMATINA
OMG!!!... This was the best ever festival! Bunol's LA TOMATINA - less than 2 hours out of Valencia. It was crazy!!! Angel Crew bumped into the Old Street Crew in Bunol and were prepared with clothing and goggles!!!
See how white and clean we all were...
See our shoes now... and then check out later on!!
We all squeezed through the masses of people trying to get into the centre of it all. Where the trucks start coming in to unload the tomatoes!!!....
It got so rough with either locals and foreigners pushing through the crowd. There was a piont where a group of them would go up to some random and rip their shirt off!! JR was the first one to experience it! He was shocked.... Ninja, Rod, and Tim were then the next target... Rob was hiding and got his shirt ripped off by our own boys! LOL.
In order to protect the girls, the boys formed a circle around the girls...gripping arms over shoulders! OMG it was severely violent!!! The tomatoes weren't even there yet!
People were throwing wet shirts and pegging them in the crowd; Locals were chucking water over the roofs with either buckets and hoses; randoms were throwing anything into the crowd - Thongs, Goggles, Wet ripped shirts....
The canon went off signaling the crowd that the trucks were starting to come in!...Everyone started pushing each other trying to prepare themselves to that hardcore event! I put my flimsy goggles on along with the other girls.. And then it was on like Donkey Kong!!!
Poor Joanna... getting squashed by all even her own goggles!!!
The amount of tomatoes that went flying, branding everyone from their heads and bodyparts!... We were rummaging on the ground to score full tomatoes that hadn't been squashed yet...throwing it to how knows.... Jr and Denise were the ones that got it bad...
The tomato throwing only went for an hour, but it felt like forever!!! Seeing the aftermath of it all was unbelievable!! River of tomatoes, the juice and the stench of it all!! The smell of a rubbish dump! Locals came into action with their hoses and washed the streets and people down!
Check out the pool of tomato juices and chunks!!!
The train ride home was feral! It smelt of a rubbish dump... the juices of it! LOL...
We all freshened up and headed into Valencia City to meet up with Jainne, Vee and Som for dinner... Our only chance to sight see....
After walking round, we finally decided where to eat!!!...
Yummy starters!!!
And our mains!!!
Then awesome dessert!!!
The walk and train home to the hotel...
The walk back to the hotel got us prep-ed for bed... we were KO-ed....
Good night Valencia!!!!
xoxo
