LONDON-LOVE 07/05/09: GALLERY OPENINGS

The RAREKIND Gallery Opening in Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch - was something I had locked in and kept the Angel Crew posted. Gallery openings with FREE BOOZE is mos def something to check out!

www.rarekind.co.uk

Some amazing Street Art worth taking note and inspiration from... There were waves of people from different walks of life in the basement gallery. Red/White Wine or Beers were the options upon entrance....

The venue reminded me of some galleries back in Sydney... but not so pretencious! LOL. The Cool Cats mixed in with the Es-yay Ad-lays, a squeeze of Asian flavour, Sneaker Freaks as side dish along with the Retro/Hippy Stylers...

This KING's Artwork reminded me of a friend's business card from back in Sydney (Sam)... but this ones more dramatically brutal though!!...

We winged it to the next Gallery Opening we stumbled on... More FREE BEERS!!!...

This was my favourite piece of art (above illustration). There were heaps of characters in the artwork along with intertwining humorous stories within the frame...

OMG... It ended up being a Gallery-Hoping-Night! Next Gallery in line was a Student Photography Exhibition... FREE Chocolate was left... Hehe.

Another Gallery Opening that we helped ourselves to... More installation art.

We left the gallery scene and walked to Kingsland Road for a Vietnamese Dinner!! SONG QUE CAFE (Authentic Viet Food)....Pho, here we come!!! The food was very satifying... but still not as tastier as MISS SAIGON in Hurstville!.. :(

After a hearty Viet meal, we decided to walk it back to Angel... a 30 minute walk!!!!

Love Asain food and miss all the restaurants/take out joints back in Sydney!!!

:)

LONDON-LOVE 07/05/09: PICCADILLY LUNCH

Rod, Denise, Jr & I met up with Charles at Piccadilly... we were meant to walk from Angel to Piccadilly but was too lazy once again to make the effort. Charles took us to a back street sandwich shop... Yummy salami sandwiches... We took it to a nearby park and sat on the bench enjoying or filling meals & chatting away...

Thanks Charlie-man!!

We then walked to FLAT WHITE, one of a handful of 'good' London coffee...

They love their 'not hot enough' coffees here!

Arghh!!!

LONDON-LOVE 06/05/09: FIRST HAIR CUT IN LONDON

First hair cut ever in London!!! The traditional cut please! I was recommended by Pao-Pao to check out J. MORIYAMA HAIR DESIGN in Marylebone. Eiko, the Japanese hairdresser was the one that assisted me with my cut.

She took her time as if it was a work of art!! I loved the end product!

THANKS EIKO!

And thanks Pao-Pao & Michelle for the referal...

Pao! Hurry up and come back to London!!

xoxo

LONDON-LOVE 02/05/09: THE PACMAN SHOWDOWN

Rod, Denise, Charles, Tine, Tim, Jr & I headed to Paddington CASINO to watch the Hatton VS Pacquiao Fight. We had to represent the Asians in the Brit-Supporting Venue!

We grabbed a couch and waited for the fight... we heard a few Filo accents... noticing a few supporters there...

We needed caffine to stay up... we got the the place at 12 middnight and the fight was starting at 3am... So we tought!

MAIN ARENA with the fight starting at 4:30am London Time!! At first we were hesitant to cheer but once PAC-MAN started, we were screaming and jumping out of our seats!!! I've never been so poud to be Filipino in my life till that long night!!!

We left the venue in the early morning - 5am..... bused it back home and watched the highlights on the internet....

Go PAC-MAN Go!!!

LONDON-LOVE 01/05/09: WHITE INDIA QUAY

A night out further away from ANGEL. Tubes to DLR... At White India Quay - very similar to Cockle Bay & King Street Wharf... very classy.... We met up with Rod's workmate Marissa and her company of friends.

Drinks all round... beers, shots??? Where's JOHN MAYER!?

We had to leave before the tube stopped working... so we hurried it along... forgetting to scan out of the station our credit on Oyster Card was being deducted with a bigger fee... Nooo!

LONDON-LOVE 27/04/09: AMSTERDAM

A long and lazy day - we walked to the VAN GOGH Museum (which felt like forever - but very well worth it).. Before Denise & I went for the late afternoon session - we all had coffee in the freezing cold park.

We left the rest at the Diamond Museum (chilling on the seats & making use for the TV) to head to the Van Gogh Museum. We didn't have to wait in the que as we had purchased tickets before hand in the Diamond Museum.

Free audio was a bonus to the Museum. I listened to every piece of art that had a marked audio commentary beside it. Seeing Van Gogh's early art through to his developed well know style was amazing.. The exhibition was titled 'VAN GOGH AND THE COLOURS OF THE NIGHT' - with the headlining artwork 'Stary Night'....

We snacked on Hot Dogs before our long journey home via Coach....

Goodbye AMSTERDAM....

LONDON-LOVE 26/04/09: AMSTERDAM

The 'Coffee Shop' downstairs from our room was loaded with graff! Visually stimulating...

We all visited another 'Coffee Shop' in the early morning from 'Breakfast'...

We walked to ANNE FRANK's House, but the line was too long to wait - the 3 boys were leaving in the afternoon to head back to London.

Some sugary treats...

GROUP SHOT!!! Thanks to the random lady tourist that took this photo!

Poor Lolo was getting sleepy!...

While everyone power-napped, I continued reading my book! I Heart Eward Cullen!... Hmmm.. I feel like I'm in High School again!

Rod, Denise, Tim & Tine went on a Canal Cruise - so Jr & I went walkabout and checked out Amsterdam's 'Shopping Centre'. Show me some shoes!!!

Dinner was 'Wok To Wok' - Asian food for the past few days in Amsterdam, that makes sense?!

Dessert at BEN'S 'Coffee Shop'...

A night in celebrating Timmy's 25th Birthday...

I've never seen Jr smile so much & laugh so hard in my life!!!

Happy Birthday Rod & Tim!
